Echo Privacy Policy
1) Overview Echo is a student-focused, campus-first chat experience. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
2) Information we collect We may collect: (a) Account & profile (name, email, school, and optional fields like major/graduation year), (b) Content you choose to share (messages, posts, images), and
(c) Usage & device data (basic app interactions, crash logs, and device/app info) to keep Echo working smoothly.
3) How we use information We use information to provide features (course chats, profiles, notifications), authenticate users, keep the community safe (abuse prevention/moderation), communicate updates, and improve
reliability and performance.
4) Sharing We share information only as needed to operate Echo (for example, hosting, storage, analytics, and notifications) or if required by law or to protect users and Echo. We do not sell your personal information.
5) Retention & deletion We keep data as long as needed to provide Echo and meet legal/safety requirements. You can request account deletion in-app; we’ll delete or de-identify personal information unless we must
keep it for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
6) Security We use reasonable measures to protect data, but no system is perfect. Please use a strong password and keep your device secure.
7) Children’s privacy Echo is not intended for children under 13.
8) Changes We may update this policy. Significant changes will be posted here and/or communicated in-app.
